Ruth’s grandparents, who were German Immigrants, were among the first to settle in Cullman. Ruth was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Her proud German heritage and inspiring Catholic faith help to make Ruth beloved to all who knew her. Ruth literally bloomed with pleasure making Cullman a more beautiful place by her longtime work in the garden club. As long as her eyesight would allow, she had documented this prestigious heritage by scrapbooking.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Henry; son, Craig Henry, parents: William and Rosie Hacker; and a sister, Frances “Sis” Lynn.
Ruth is survived by daughters: Debbie (Gary) McGill; Vickie (Terry) Parker; grandchildren: Heath (Crystal) Parker, Andrea Parker and her children Zoe and Chi, Josh (Amanda) McGill, and Brooke (Matt) Cornelius; great grandchildren; Noah (Grace) Parker, Riley McGill, Lane Parker, Carsyn Cornelius, and Kennedy Cornelius; sister, Dottie Tucker and a host of other family members and friends.
Graveside service will be Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Cullman City Cemetery. Abbot Marcus Voss O.S.B. will officiate.
