Merle Gladys (Williams) McSwain

Merle Gladys Williams McSwain of Bremen Alabama passed away June 3, 2020 at the age of 93. She was born October 11, 1926 to Edward and Modine Grimmett Williams. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Verlon D. McSwain, sisters Hazel McSwain, Oleta Campbell, Coleen Campbell, Bertie Mae Calvert, Verla Taylor, brothers Cordis Williams, Virgil Williams, Herman Williams, Clyde Williams and Billy Williams, grandson Jon Abbott.

Merle loved to cook and she taught all of her kids and grandkids her love of cooking. She also loved her flowers and gardening. She loved taking care of her grandkids and great grandkids. Merle loved taking care of everyone and she welcomed anyone into her home.

Funeral services are Sunday June 7, 2020 at Johnson Grove Methodist Church at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Johnny Freeman officiating. Interment will follow services in the adjoining cemetery.

Survivors are: daughter: Shirlene (Rev. James) Abbott, son: Danny (Shirley) McSwain, grandchildren: Jeff (Lisa) Abbott, Belinda (Phillip) Nesmith, Kimberly (Tim) Locke, Darlynda (Jimmy) May, Kenneth (Tammy) McSwain, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Visitation is Saturday June 6, 2020 from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Moss Funeral Home.
