Matthew was a wonderful nephew and I miss him every day of the year but most of all on this, the anniversary of his death.  His face is still fresh in my mind and his laughter will always be heard and felt by me in my heart.

I’m so thankful my child got the chance to have Matt in his life he considered him daddy. Today he asked me to call him and tell him he loved him but we explained that he had a beautiful angel now watching over him. He will forever be loved and in our hearts. Rest in peace bat dad your side kick is taking on the world for you!!! 

Matthew was my nephew and every time I saw him he was so happy and was always very nice and easy to talk to about everything.  When I came back to Alabama to take care of my mother in April, 2007, my brother had gotten tickets to an Alabama football game and wasn't go to go to the game and gave the tickets to Matthew.  As I recall, he told Matthew to ask his Aunt Susie to go to the game with him because at the time Matthew didn't have a girlfriend.  Anyway he did ask me and I did go with him to Tuscallosa, Alabama, to the football game and we really enjoyed the game.  As it turned out, everybody sitting around us asked where Richard (my brother) was and that's when I realized that I was a substitute and that normally Richard (Tiger) would have probably been at this game; however, I was pleased to take his place.  Matthew will always be in my heart and I will miss his laugh and his happy attitude about just about everything life had to offer.  I will miss him.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Friedrich family. Matthew was a wonderful person inside and out and loved by so many. There are so many wonderful memories with him that one is hard to name. 

I grew up watching Matthew love my mother. He filled the role of a father figure in my life years ago. If I ever needed anything , Matthew was there.  If my mother needed anything, Matthew was there. It hurts to see my mother grieve when the person she needs to comfort her is the one she’s grieving. I know Matthew’s love was so strong for us and will live on forever. Matthew was an angel in our lives and now he will forever watch over us. Until we meet again Turtle. Fly high for us. 

Praying for Barbara , Patrick and Matt’s children and wife. So sorry for your loss of a precious person. He always had a smile  for all who met him. You will all be in our prayers.
