Dorothy Faye Weathers Sharpton entered life on Saturday, November 17, 2018. Her spirit is carried on by her four brothers, Elzia, Wayne, Ron, and Mike Weathers; three children, Betty Glasscock (Doug), William Sharpton, Jr. (Rebecca), and Carlene Traywick (Joe); nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life.
Faye was born at home in the Beech Grove community, Cullman County, to Jim and Edith Weathers on September 1, 1933. She was generously altruistic, devoting her life to the care of others. Before working as an LPN for 20 years for Dr. Jim Davis in Cullman, Faye was a dedicated Navy wife. She was a lover of animals, a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, and prayed for each member of her family by name every day.
Faye is reunited with her husband, Bill Sharpton; her brothers, Don and Bill Weathers; her granddaughter, Melanie Manning; as well as her parents.
A small graveside service will be held at New Hope Baptist Church #1 at Jones Chapel on Wednesday, November 21 at 11 a.m.
