She was born July 11, 1921, in Chicago to Andrew and Mabel (Moore) Habermann. On October 22, 1949, she married Walter Forrest.
A resident of Crystal Lake since 1950, she resided at the Fountains Assisted Living for many years before moving to Valley Hi Nursing Home in Woodstock. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the First United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake. She volunteered at the Sherman Hospital resale shop for many years. She loved gardening and bird watching.
She is survived by her children, Walter Forrest, Nancy Forrest, Louise Forrest, and Andrew (Denise) Forrest; her grandchildren, Stephen (Michelle), James (Jamie), Molly, Hanna, Sean, Megan, Elyssa, and Emily; her great-grandchildren, Melody, Madelyn, and Taylor; her sister, Arlene (Ralph) Borgatell; and many nieces and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her parents; and her brother, Andrew.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6pm on Sunday, October 30, at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue from 10am to the 11am funeral service on Monday, October 31, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
