Everyone who knew Jackie, absolutely loved her and treasured their relationship with her. She was a mother, sister, aunt, great aunt, and great great aunt, but mostly she was a friend to everyone, and genuinely cared for everyone she came to know.
Until two years ago, Jackie lived in Munster Indiana, then moved to the Barrington Area to be closer to her daughter Sandra. She joined the assisted living community of Clarendale of Algonquin, which became her new family. She embraced the opportunity to develop new friendships, serve as a comfort to other residents who were struggling, and as a confidant and sounding board for those just wanting to talk, residents and staff alike.
In addition to people, Jackie loved dogs, especially her beloved Westie, Crème Puff as well as Beagle, Maggie and Sheltie Mix, Honey, all preceding her in death.
Everyone who was fortunate enough to know Jackie will forever remember her as one of the most caring, compassionate, optimistic and genuine human beings ever! Her spirit touched everyone she met.
And while she has left us, she left a part of herself with everyone who was blessed to know her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jackie’s memory, to Barrington Area Animal Rescue & Kennels (www.BAARKDogRescue.org) or Live Like Roo (www.LiveLikeRoo.org). BAARK rescues and cares for dogs, particularly seniors and dogs having special needs, who find themselves homeless….including dogs of people who have passed away or have had to move into nursing homes or assisted living and are unable to take their dogs. Live Like Roo provides support and financial assistance to families whose pet faces a cancer diagnosis.
We are celebrating Jackie's life and her legacy of caring, with a farewell get-together on Sunday August 25th, 1:00 – 4:00 at Clarendale of Algonquin which was her home for the last two years.
