She was born March 1, 1921 in Crystal Lake to Otto and Ida (Schwalger) Berkley. She graduated from Crystal Lake High School in 1939. On September 27, 1942 she married Thomas Kiley in Crystal Lake.
Edna was the proud mother of three girls. She was a Sunday school teacher and Girl Scout leader. She loved fishing, gardening, and canning. She also excelled in bowling, which she stayed active with until she was 87. Edna was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, of which she was a past President. She especially loved being Poppy chairman.
She is survived by her daughter, MaryAnn (Len) Miele; her son-in-law, Mark Bear; her grandchildren, Ann (Anthony) Deegan, Kelly (Steve) Pagel, Kim (Mark) Oshinski, Angie (Joe) Blakeley, Jami (Greg) Golz, and Kerry (Walter) McLaughlin; her step-grandchildren, Tina Blair, Kori Davis, and Randee Miele; and her 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughters, Robin Caputo and Carol Bear; and her siblings, Ralph Berkley, Ken Berkley, Frances Jurs, Marion Johnson, and Vera Waggoner.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8pm on Thursday, March 19 at Querhammer & Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue from 10 to 11am on Friday, March 20 at the funeral home. The service will be at 11am.
Interment will be in Algonquin Cemetery.
