WILLIAM LINCOLN WEAVER OF DEMOTTE, IN FORMERLY OF HESSVILLE ,passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2014 with his loving wife of 62 years at his side. Mr. Weaver was born on April 18, 1931, in Hammond, IN to the late Jesse and Isabelle (Weddel) Weaver. He is also preceded in death by his sister Betty Laird. Survivors are his wife Helen (O'Dea) Weaver; children: Linda (Larry) McCoy, Jack "Tom" Weaver, James (Beth) Weaver, Don (Tess) Weaver, and Ron (Beth) Weaver. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Tim (Joanna), Amy, Audrey, Anna, Rachel, Kara (Ben), Amber, Aaron, Taylor (Marissa), and Tanner; three great grandchildren; brother, Wayne; three sisters: Dorothy, Judy, and Laura; and a step-mother Bea Weaver. William faithfully served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home from the Army, he returned back to work for Inland Steel. He retired after 36 years of service from Inland. He was a man of deep faith and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. Mr. Weaver was a mechanics enthusiast, fixing all types of machinery for his family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave; Schererville, IN 46375) with Pastor Bob Parnell officiating. Memorial contributions may be given towards the charity of the donor's choice.
