Raul Torres, Jr.

Raul Torres, Jr., age 71, of Hobart, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Raul is the long-time companion to Brenda Pearson; proud father to Latatyana Torres, Jesse (Arlene) Allen and Roletta (Robert) Buchanan; cherished grandfather to Delissa, Sophia, Elias and the late Sincere; loving son to Raul Torres, Sr. and the late Maria Torres; the best brother to Elizabeth (Javier) Chavez, Maria (the late Kevin) Scanlon, Gilbert (Bertha) Torres, Ruben (Susan) Torres, Sandra (William) Stahlke, and Yolanda (John) Yarusinsky; uncle to Elisa, Patricia, Angela, Yvonne, Nicole, Nicholas, William, James, Steven and the late Michael. Raul is a 1971 graduate of Morton Senior High School. He retired from Arcelor Mittal Steel after 34 years of faithful service. In his earlier days, he was a disciplined runner and a serious thrill seeker, doing such risks as bungee jumping. Raul adored his mother and enjoyed showing his love and care for her. He enjoyed his travels and being with his friends. Raul will be remembered by his kindness and generosity. He was a loving son, brother, companion and father, and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Monday, July 29, 2024 from 2:00 pm until the time of his Funeral at 6:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307.
