Michael George O'Donnell

Michael George O’Donnell, age 43, of Schererville, IN departed this earth suddenly on August 22, 2022. Michael was born on June 12, 1979 in Crown Point, IN to George and Sue (Miner) O’Donnell. He grew up in Schererville and graduated from Lake Central High School in 1998. Mike then received an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Ivy Tech. Mike was blessed to have his best friend, Stevo Kecman, throughout his whole adult life. It was Stevo who introduced him to his wife Emily (Rutledge) O’Donnell. Mike and Emily were married in May of 2014 in a beautiful private beach ceremony in the Florida Keys. They share two beautiful daughters, Breanna and Natalie, who brought so much joy to Mike’s life. Mike was a dialysis nurse for the Fresenius Acute Team in NWI for many years, where he had many friends and co-workers who he cared greatly for. Michael was very passionate about fitness and personal health. He spent time researching and educating himself on related topics. Mike frequently spoke of a lifelong dream to one day open a men’s health clinic to help others achieve their best health. Mike loved movies and music was very important to him. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Emily (Rutledge) O’Donnell; his beautiful daughters, Breanna and Natalie O’Donnell; parents, George and Sue (Miner) O’Donnell; brother, Tim O’Donnell; sister, Kathleen (Jay) Eddlemon; best friend, Stevo Kecman; and father and mother-in-law, Tim and Jean Rutledge. He is preceded in death by grandparents, George and Helen O’Donnell, Sr., and Kenneth and Jeanne Miner. Family and friends may gather from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. An additional hour of visiting will take place on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM.
