Maria lived a full life and loved spending time with others. While born in Laredo, TX, she and her family lived in Mexico before moving to Northwest Indiana in 1966. She graduated from Edison High School and Beauty School in 1968. Maria loved making people feel heard, confident, and beautiful inside and out, whether or not they were in her salon. In 1991, her dreams were realized when she was able to open her own salon for 18 years in Munster, IN, Vogue Hair Studio. Maria would continue to support other salons, but she also loved being a full-time grandmother to her lively grandchildren and grandpuppy. Her wonderful smile and laughter and willingness to help others will be truly missed in this world. Maria dearly loved her family and was loved and cherished by so many.
Maria’s strong and unwavering Catholic faith was at the core of how she lived her life. Maria was a parishioner of Saint Michael’s the Archangel Catholic Church and also enjoyed attending services at the Carmelite Fathers in Munster, IN. Maria always loved what she was doing and let others know she loved them to her final moments. Maria's family is comforted knowing that she was welcomed to eternal life by her family who proceeded her, which Maria so richly believed. And while she is at rest, her light and memory live on.
