John Arnold Robinson

JOHN A. ROBINSON SCHERERVILLE FORMERLY OF HAMMOND John A. Robinson, age 68, passed away peacefully at Ball State University Hospital on July 19, 2014. John was born July 23, 1945 in Hammond, Indiana to the late Arnold and Jean (Miller) Robinson. On August 20, 1966 he married his wife of forty years Diana J. (Klisiak) Robinson, she also preceded him in death on July 14, 2004. Survivors are his children: Wendi (Joseph) Coler, Kimberly Reising, John Aaron (Katie) Robinson, and Natalie (Paul) Hayes, 15 grandchildren and his sister Anne Robinson-Avery. Mr. Robinson graduated from Purdue in Engineering and worked as a fire protection engineer and consultant for Marsh & McLennon, where he retired as the assistant to the Vice President. In his healthier years, he was passionate about weightlifting, cars, fishing at Long Lake in Minnesota, and spending time at their second home on Torch Lake in Michigan. John spent much time working to instill the value of education, ambition, strength, and success with his four children. John was generous with his time as a father and took much pride in a job well done. Family and friends remember him for his intelligence, knowledge, and witty personality. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 7:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375) with Fr. Steve Kosinski officiating.
