Dolores Katherine Hoekema

Dolores Katherine Hoekema, age 92, of Crown Point, IN, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2, 2024. Born on July 8, 1932, Dolores was the daughter of the late Lambert and Minnie (Kuiper) Eriks. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Hoekema, Sr.; her sister, Annetta Kiel; and her son, Donald Hoekema, Jr. Dolores is survived by her children, Dale E. (Linda) Hoekema and Denise Massey; brother, Lambert Eriks; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Dolores devoted many years of her life to serving in the high school cafeteria, before fully dedicating herself to her home and family. A lifelong member of Community Christian Reformed Church of Roselawn, she was deeply involved in her church community. Dolores had a passion for watching the Chicago Cubs, enjoyed finding treasures while thrift shopping, and cherished spending time with her loved ones. A Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Pastor Laryn Zoerhof will officiate. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Christian Reformed Church of Roselawn Food Pantry, 10498 North 450 East, DeMotte, IN 46310.
