Anna R. (nee Alma) Horney, age 103, of Grant Park, Illinois, formerly of Hammond and Monticello, IN, passed away peacefully August 12, 2015 with her loving daughter and son-in-law at her side.
Mrs. Horney was born June 2, 1912, in Monticello, Indiana to the late William and Stella (Rutherford) Alma. Also preceding her in death are her husband, Claude Horney; a great grandson, Andrew Pachak; siblings, Lewis Hastings, Hazel Ward, Mary Guss, John Alma, Roy Alma, Ralph Alma, and Bob Alma.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carol (Jack) Doll; grandchildren, John (Gina) Doll II, Robert (Tammy) Doll, JoAnn (David) Roth, and Julie (Derek) Poertner; great grandchildren, Chelsea, Kendall, Melissa (Kasey), Dan, Hanna, Jack, Joey, Jeremy, and Alexis; great-great grandchildren, Jenna, Sawyer, and Drew;
and a brother Chuck Alma
Anna was a loving and devoted homemaker for her family, caring for many generations of her family. She and her husband Claude were lifetime and charter members of Southside Christian Church of Hammond, now in Munster. Her longevity gave her the opportunity to share stories with her young family of her generation, and ones before her.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 12:00 pm (CDT) at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave; Schererville, Indiana 46375) with Rev. Doug Klukken officiating.
