I drove from FL to Croton with Dad with his long legs in this car.  Best road trip ever!

Sean and I walked for years and years  at Croton Point.  Many  fond memories:
I would sing a few lines of a song ( forget the rest) and he would recite lines and lines of poetry - learned  from his Irish prep school days.  
Then there were discussions about certain english words that had multiple meanings - we wondered about that. 
One winter I fell in the parking lot and he fell try ing to help me - lucky us that Johnny Grant came alone to pick us up. (We laughed about it later,) 
Mostly we walked  - just enjoying the birds and  sounds out there.  And our friendship.

Dear Pauline and family, 
I'm so sorry to hear of the passing of Shawn O'Rourke.  I did not know Shawn well, only meeting him a few times. I knew   him mostly through the stories that  Pauline would tell me about him through the years.  It was soon clear to  me  that this man was an exceptionally wonderful person.  His loss will be felt profoundly even by those who were just an acquaintance.  My condolences to all  of the family and friends  who loved him.                   Jennifer White

My dad was so patient and laid back even while teaching me how to drive!  The best advice he gave was don't worry about who is behind you, pay attention to the front!  Practicing driving with Dad at Senasqua when it was much bigger!  Then he said off to the highway!  I'll never forget our driving sessions at Croton Point Park learning to drive stick!  I don't think I ever heard him lose his cool as much as he did when I was grinding those gears!  That's probably why I stuck to automatic!  I will miss my dad so much!  He was our guiding compass, our light when he smiled.  Having him grace your lives, whether when he was working his job or the many family or friend gatherings, he was the very best man to have known.  He along with my mother and new siblings adopted me and my sister into his family and I will always cherish and remember him as the loving, laid-back, loyal, and honest man he was.  Love you, Dad, you will always be in my heart and memories.

What a kind and thoughtful human he was. Our family sends you sincere condolences.
