Mrs. Rose Ellen Satterfield

Rose Hawkins Satterfield, 87, went to be with the Lord on September 17th 2022. She is survived by her, son Steve Satterfield, daughters Joni Satterfield, and Beth Tate (Terry Tate); grandsons Jacob Satterfield, Ryan Satterfield and Jared Tate; granddaughter Meghan Tate and her brother Jack Hawkins of Barrackville, WV.

Rose was a graduate from Barrackville high school where she was a cheerleader and a majorette. After graduation, Rose met and married her husband, “Buck” who she was married to for 65 years. She was dedicated to her family; staying home to raise their children was a job she was very proud of. Rose was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was very proud of her grandchildren.

Rose volunteered preparing meals for “meals on wheels” and loved to help with the Special Olympics. She was always up for an adventure and enjoyed traveling. She loved to be on the go ALL the time, enjoyed shopping, gardening in her flowers, and dearly loved her pets.

Rose passed a short 51 days after her husband, a bond so strong that their love story will continue eternally. She was also preceded in death by her parents Hazel and Jessie Burl Hawkins, sisters Oneida “Skeet” Wise and Donna “Dot” Martin and her daughter in law Janet Satterfield.

Rose has chosen not to have a service. The family wishes to thank Kanawha Hospice for their wonderful care and support.
