Kathy Lynn Akers

Kathy Lynn Akers, 65 of Parkersburg, WV passed away July 23rd, 2020. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Eddie and Euna Burdette. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dale Akers, also surviving are two sons Tony (Liz) Akers and Randy ( Mel) Akers; grandchildren Dale Akers III; Caleb Akers; Noah Akers Ethen Akers and a great grandson Johnathan. Service will be Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 2:00 PM visitation will be from Noon until the time of service on Tuesday at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Kathy wore many hats, but the ones she was most proud of were wife, mother, grandmother and lover of cats. Kathy left a legacy of selflessness because throughout her whole life she always thought of the welfare of others first. Whatever Kathy was involved in, she was a positive influence on the children in her care, especially in church and as the Director of a daycare center. Her home would often bust at the seems with a gathering of her sons’ friends as well as other neighborhood kids. Many of which would even refer to her as “Mom.” Kathy exhibited kindness, caring, giving, sacrifice, and a profound love for Jesus. When she departed to be with the Lord she left a vacuum that is impossible to fill.
