John Anderson Stover, 71, of Campbell’s Creek passed away December 5, 2017 at home after a long illness. John was a maintenance supervisor at Stone & Thomas Department Store, was a coal truck driver and UMWA member. He retired metal fabricator with South Charleston Stamping Plant. He was born December 22, 1945 to the late Troy and Martha Layton Stover. He was an Army Veteran. Also preceded in death by his brothers, Carl, Victor, Rome, Ronnie, Troy “Denny”, and sisters, Becky and Betty. Left to cherish his memory are children, Johnny of Mansfield, Ohio, Martha Messer (Chris) Mansfield, Ohio, and Kyle of Charleston; brothers, Allen of Emory, Texas, Otis (Mary) and Jim (Sharon) of Charleston; sisters, Barbara Kiefer (Warren) of The Villages, Florida, Bonnie Flowers (Ron) of Charleston; Penny Stover of Charleston; 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson; and his beloved pet, Bandit. Service will be Noon Friday, December 8th, 2017 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, WV 25313 with Chaplain Terry Yahr officiating. Burial with Military Honors provided by the WV Army National Guard and the VFW Post 73 will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
