Connie was born on May 8, 1940 to parents Delbert and Gladys Monk and was the only daughter of 8 children.
Connie worked 34 years for the Kanawha Co. Board of Education as the Head Custodian for Cross Lanes Elementary, Boreman Elementary, Belville Elementary and Roxalana Annex. Connie took pride in caring for the ones she loved and spent her life putting others before herself. She loved spending time with her 4 daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Most of all she loved cheering for her favorite dirt track racer and grandson Zach.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents Delbert and Gladys Monk, her Husband Roger Casto, her seven brothers Dallas, Paul, Donald, Carrol, Denver, Clifford and Charles Monk and her grandson SSG Justin Templeton.
Connie is survived by her daughters Debra Templeton of Poca, WV; Greta Atkins (Ed) of Scott Depot, WV; Tammy Kersey (David) of Fountain Inn, SC, and Rhonda Milbee (Joe) of Poca, WV; Grandchildren Tara, Amber, Brian, Josh and Zach. Great-grandchildren Cierra, McKenzie, Lilly, Baylee, Jacob and Nolan; one Great-great granddaughter Lilah and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank her in home nurse Halie Lengyel with CenterWell and the nursing staff at HospiceCare CAMC.
Celebration of Connie’s life will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Pastor David Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 1 until time of service at the funeral home.
