Born March 5, 1958 in Peoria, he was the son of Joyce Ann Rogers. He married Linda Jane (Heineman) Aldrich on August 8, 1998 in Groveland. She survives of East Peoria.
Also surviving are his mother, Joyce Williams of Morton; seven children, Jennifer Maracci of Dunfermline, Shane (Jessica) Rogers of Lincoln, Cori Maas of East Peoria, Michael (Jill) Aldrich of East Peoria, Jodie (Darin) Goode of Spring Bay, Ryan (Dana) Aldrich of Metamora and Richard (CiCi) Aldrich of Mishawaka, Indiana; sixteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one aunt, Janet (Gary) Lutschg of Creve Coeur; one uncle, Dennis (Terry) Krus of Tucson, Arizona and many cousins. Also leaves a longtime friend, Bob Dickson of Creve Coeur.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jacob Allen “Jake” Rogers and one aunt, Gloria Schilling.
Allen attended Woodruff High School in Peoria and then served in the United States Army.
He was a retired member of Painters Union Local 157 in Peoria. He was a longtime painter, dry wall finisher and plasterer by trade.
Allen will be remembered as a funny, comical and entertaining character who never failed to make you laugh. He had a nickname for everyone, had a big, generous heart and loved cooking outdoors on the grill. He loved hunting and fishing, along with golf. He was a skilled bow hunter. He was a big fan of the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals. Allen loved his family.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Inurnment will be in Hirstein Cemetery in Morton at a later date.
