Charlynne was born on February 17th 1969 in Aurora, Colorado. She then moved to Craig, Colorado at a young age and enjoyed cheerleading, volleyball, and 4-H. She loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed spending time with her siblings and cousins. She graduated from Moffat County High School in 1987 and moved to Denver for Beauty School. She married her high school sweetheart, Kenny Wondra, on June 11th 1988. In this union they welcomed their first son Coley in 1989 and their second son Travis in 1990.
After she finished her degree, she worked as a Cosmetologist for a little while. Following that she got her license to sell insurance which she did quite successfully for about 10 years. Charlynne and Kenny began their owner/operator journey with Big O Tires that took them to Lake Tahoe, California and Rock Springs, Wyoming before settling in Casper where they owned and worked the Big O Tires Store for 15 years. They moved to Craig in the fall of 2014 where they had the opportunity to be closer to family and further the family business opportunities. Charlynne loved being a small business owner and would greet everyone with her smiling face. She also loved having the opportunity to support her community in any way that she could. Charlynne loved her family and treated everyone as family. She loved to have a house full of people and always made sure that everyone left with a giant loving hug and a full stomach. She supported her family by spending countless hours in the pickup and trailer and an unbelievable amount of time in the stands watching ropings, rodeos, and wrestling tournaments. Charlynne was a giver and a caregiver, she took care of all the people in her life. Her life joy was her family which was made complete with her grandchildren (Brylynn, Maxine, Cohen, Kennan). She loved being a grandma and she would spoil her grandkids unconditionally. She never told them no and they knew that if they wanted something, to ask Grandma first. Charlynne had a passion for adventure and enjoyed travelling. She loved her time in Arizona every winter with her friends. She loved the mountains and the beach, a woman of many talents enjoyed sewing and making things. She had a knack for decorating and prided herself on entertaining and hosting as many family holiday events as possible. Charlynne passed away on Tuesday October 29th in her home. She is survived by her husband Kenny, sons Coley (Sara) Wondra and Travis (Kaitlyn) Wondra, grandchildren Brylynn, Maxine, Cohen, and Kennan, her mother Janet Brown, her siblings Sheli Steele and Scot (Toni) Brown, Aunt Peg Hough, cousins Melissa (Mike) Curtin, Eric Hough, and Ben Hough. Numerous nieces Gabbi Steele, Jaidyn Steele, Reina Steele, Taylor Brown, Maddy (Dakota) Young. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Kenny and Evelyn Simpson, Uncle Mike Hough, father Howard L. Brown, and paternal grandfather Howard J. Brown.
A celebration of Charlynne’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday November 6, 2024 at First Christian Church of Craig Colorado. A reception will follow at The Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion. Honorary pallbearers: Coley Wondra, Travis Wondra, Scot Brown, Jason Weber, Casey Anderson, Justin Myers, Joe Pullara.
