Ann Carter Ensley, age 83, of Covington, La passed away on December 23, 2024, peacefully in her home surrounded by her immediate family. She was born on June 18, 1941, in New Orleans, La to Ann F. Carter and Charles G. Carter.
Ann is survived by her beloved husband James L. Ensley; her loving children Jean Pierre (Christi) Simoneaux, Charles Michael Simoneaux and Suzette (Matthew) Price; and her grandchildren Dustin and Carter Simoneaux, Allie Simoneaux, John and Catherine Church, Wayne and Rebecca Galloway and Judy Sanford.
Ann is preceded in death by her deceased husband Henry Anthony Simoneaux and brother Jerry Carter.
Ann grew up in New Orleans, La and attended and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. Ann enjoyed spending time in her youth with relatives in Pearlington, Mississippi and had a passion for life from a young age.
She met and married her deceased husband Butch Simoneaux in New Orleans and started their family together. The family relocated to Covington, La where she worked and retired from Burvant Family Dentistry working closely with Dr. Ed Burvant for 22 years.
Ann married Jim Ensley in 1997 and was happily married for the entirety of her life. She enjoyed her family and friends and was a devout member of St. Peter Catholic Church where she was a eucharistic minister.
Ann could be described as fiercely loyal to those close to her and her family. She will be sadly missed, and many will keep cherished memories of their time together. Ann brought joy and laughter to everyone she met and was always thought of as a most compassionate person willing to go out of her way to help anyone in need.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Avenue, Covington, LA on Saturday, January 4th, 2025, at 11:00 AM with visitation at the church beginning at 9:30 AM.
Reception will follow in St. Mary’s Hall, directly adjacent to the church, immediately after Mass.
