Ruth was born in Lucerne, Switzerland and after raising three children moved to Canada in 1974. Ruth worked hard all her life but always found time to listen, cook, bake, and sew the most incredible clothes. She loved her family fiercely and was always willing to give a helping hand. She lived her life with integrity, a strong faith, love and above all gratitude.
Ruth’s happiest times were spent living in her Cottage and being involved in her family’s daily life.
Ruth loved the mountains and Tofino, “her happy place”. She enjoyed music, good food, chocolate and a glass of wine with the people she loved.
We were blessed with her long time on earth and our Mammeli, Grosi and Bibi is missed beyond words.
We love you always and hold you close in our hearts.
Ruth leaves behind to mourn her sons Christian (Magie) Rüegsegger, Urs (Charlotte) Rüegsegger, her daughter Monika (Robin) Potts and her grandchildren Peter (Rachel) Rüegsegger and Siena, Jeremy (Katrina) Potts and Emily (Austin) Potts.
A private family service will be held to honour Ruth’s life.
In lieu of flowers and to honour Ruth, hug and spend time with a grandparent or elderly person.
So when tomorrow starts
without me don’t think we’re far apart
For every time you think of me I’m
right here in your heart.
