Kay was predeceased by her husband Jack, in 2011, after 59 years of marriage. She is survived by her son, Donald (Sally) and daughter Carol, brother Joe (Nancy), “sister” Nadia, nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved “grandcats” Katie and Toby!
Kay was born in Montreal in 1929 where she lived her entire life until 2012 when she bravely up and moved to North Vancouver to be closer to family, at age 83!
She was a vibrant woman, who loved life, family and friends. She and Jack had a tightly knit group of friends, that they lovingly called “the gang”. Parties, travel, cards – they loved to have fun!
Kay was a working woman and spent time, working in Classifieds, at the Montreal Gazette, before employment for many years as a travel agent, in downtown Montreal. She relished her travel to different parts of the world and regular trips to the West Coast and North Carolina, with Jack. Kay greatly enjoyed her work as a volunteer for the Jewish General Hospital, in Montreal, where she was honoured for her ten years of service.
Celebration of Life will be on Wednesday, May 3rd at the North Vancouver Holiday Inn, from 3 to 5 p.m. and on Friday, May 5th, in Montreal at the Hampton Inn, Dorval from 3 to 5 p.m.
Kay’s heart and soul has always been in Montreal and that will be her final resting place, with Jack.
No flowers by request. Donations to your local S.P.C.A would be appreciated.
A very special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Comox Valley Seniors Village for their amazing care and support of Kay and to Dr. Bakshi, who was so kind and caring.
