Predeceased by her first husband George V. Parkin in 2003 and her daughter Cheryl-Ann Elizabeth in 1962.
Jean and George met and soon married in January of 1957. Their first daughter arrived December 1st of that year. Soon to follow was a son in 1959, another daughter in 1960 and much to their surprise 3 more daughters arrived in December 1961.
Besides being a very busy Mom, she also did the bookkeeping for Dad’s logging company. After we were all grown Mom became a Hairdresser and started her own Hair Salon in 1980.
Mom loved to travel. She traveled across the western U.S.A, from the West to the East coasts of Canada twice, Europe and Hawaii.
Her other hobbies included gardening, learning as much as she could about her family’s history, singing, knitting and crocheting.
After losing Dad to cancer in 2003 she moved to a smaller house in Courtenay to start a new Chapter.
After many years went by Mom met Bill and found love a second time. They were married in September 2010. They enjoyed many happy days together camping and fishing.
There will be Graveside Interment January 02, 2025, at 1:00 PM for close family and friends.
Refreshments will be served after the Internment at 2775 Sheraton Road in Courtenay.
