Gilchrist (Gil) Groves born June 26, 1933 in Glasgow, Scotland, died April 14, 2025 in Courtenay, British Columbia, Canada.

Preceded by his Mother, Father, baby brother and wife Sarah nee (Crossey) as well as his son’s Raymond Guy (Roz & Ann) and David Guy (Lynne & Krista).

He is survived by his three (3) daughters Carolyne Guy (Colin), Maria Lepine (Rick) and Debbie Guy (Robert & Anthony).

Twelve (12) grandchildren, David, Daniel, Darren, Raymond, Scott, Michael, Leyland, Martin, Allain, Glenn, Briana, Kyle and those that preceded him.

Thirteen (13) Great Grandchildren, Thomas, Sofie, Connor, Caden, Isaiah, Elijah, Ezekiel, Zachariah, Malachi, Isaac, Blake, Yara, Ivy and those that preceded him.

Family was very important to Gil, he humbly made himself the cornerstone of a large and loving family that flourished around him. Starting in 1973 he became Dad to five (5) grieving children, he finished a job that other men had started and did it with respect, compassion and love.

A giant of a man, for many years he lived as a body guard and a chauffeur in London, England. Gil, Jock, Dad, Grandpa, Grandpop-pop, you have been such an important person in so many people’s lives. In our most cherished memories, you will live on, we love you forever.
