November 2, 1947 - May 12, 2024
Bill was born on November 2, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan to Vaughn and Helen Redding. He grew up in Grosse Ile, Michigan before settling in Costa Mesa, California. Bill played football at the University of Southern California where he earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Then, Bill spent over 10 years in Hawaii, where he earned his Masters degree in Education before he met his soul mate, Bernie Coloma, and they married at the Pacific Club in Honolulu on June, 11th 1983. Bill and Bernie eventually settled in Costa Mesa where they raised their two sons, Matthew and Ryan. Bill will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his wife and family, and his devotion to the community.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Bernie; his children, Matthew and Ryan (Tamisha Redding); his two grandchildren, Kolby and Roka; his nephews Jimmy Andreae (Krista, Nicole, Jared, and Theodore Andreae), Rich Mast (Sara, Olivia, and Sophia Mast), and John Andreae; and his nieces Sara Mast (George Cook) and Heather Andreae. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Karen Mast and Janice Andreae (Jim Andreae); and his niece Kristin Andreae.
The Celebration of Life services will be held at the Orange Coast College Football Stadium in Costa Mesa, CA on June 29th, 2024 at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bill’s honor to benefit the Orange Coast Football Team. Contributions can be made to:
