She was married February 23, 1946 to Frank Eflin Antis who preceded her in death on Mother’s Day, May 10, 1970. She was married June 8, 1985 to Walter C. Rice, who preceded her in death, April 30, 2002.
Pauline was a member of First Baptist Church, W.L., since 1958. She was very active in the American Baptist Churches, USA, having attended 4 National Conventions and 4 Biennials and holding the position of registrar for the Ohio Baptist Women’s Convention for a 6-yr. period. She was President of the Cambridge Assoc. of American Baptist Women for 11 years and held the position of Care ‘N Share Coordinator for that association for many years. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years, having taught in Detroit, Michigan and West Lafayette. She held many offices in her home church and sang in the church choir since 1962. At the time of her death she was Assistant Financial Secretary of the church. She held many offices in the Baptist Women’s Ministries of First Baptist and was treasurer at time of death. She worked at Shaw Barton, Coshocton, for almost 19 years, retiring in 1987. She was quite proficient on her computer. She edited Meditation and Prayer books for writers, typed for clubs and church, and played games. Adding family pictures to her own Facebook page then reading and commenting on other people’s pictures helped her stay current.
Survivors are: Daughter, Patti Bluck; 5 grandchildren, Tracy & wife Jennifer Loos Bluck, Rusty and wife Melissa Chidester Bluck both couples of West Lafayette and Julie Bluck Rassman of Parkland, FL; 7 great grandchildren, Kalynn Bluck Albertson and husband Dakota, Laken Bluck and his fiance Lindsay Gould and Karrie Bluck; Sophia Bluck, Ruby Annalee Bluck, & Sunshine Bluck all of West Lafayette, OH, Zachary and Matthew Rassman of Parkland, FL; Pauline’s extended family consists of 2 step-daughters, Susan Rice Chapdelaine and husband Ed; -son-in-law, Floyd Bates, all of West Lafayette, OH; 6 step-grandchildren, Debra Bates Phillabaum of Old Washington, Ohio, Tammy Bates Hatfield & husband Tim of Columbus, Sherry Bates Lambert of Columbus, Georgia, Melissa Bates Farley Rehard of West Lafayette, Michelle Chapdelaine Bartley and husband Todd of Williamsport, PA and Renee Chapdelaine Luke and husband Larry of Columbus, OH; 17 step-great grandchildren, Trace Phillabaum, Old Washington, OH; Jimi Hatfield and wife Sarah, Jenny Hatfield of New Philadelphia, OH, and Jessie Hatfield Tanner and husband, Daniel, of Tennessee; David, James, Michael and Elizabeth Lambert of Columbus, GA; Dakota Farley & wife Courtney, Karlie and Hunter Rehard all of West Lafayette, OH; Alex and Elaina Bartley of Williamsport, PA; Gavin Luke of Columbus, OH; 3 great, great granddaughters, Fynlee, Adley & Baylor Albertson.
Besides her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by all 7 brothers and sisters: Carl, Robert, J.C. Jr., Charles, Billy Joe Moore, Gladys Moore Brookey and Mary Moore Bowdler. 2 step-daughters, Donna Antis Bates, died in 2009 Kay Antis Crosby who died in 2015; and 2 son-in-laws, Tom Ashby, who died in 2007 and Gary Bluck, who died in 2015.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm and one hour prior to the funeral service at the First Baptist Church of West Lafayette, 688 East Main Street, West Lafayette, Ohio 43845. Funeral Services will be held at the Church on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 12:00 pm with Pastor Randy Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
