She was born on December 5, 1939 in Coshocton to the late George Jay Willits and Ionia Gertrude Michael Willits.
After graduating from Coshocton High School in 1957, she attended The Ohio State University. On October 28, 1961, she married the love of her life, Thomas LeRoy Booth, who preceded her in death on September 6, 2007. They were married for almost 46 years.
Susie was employed at General Electric in Coshocton as a Clerk, Secretary, Decorative Customer Service Representative, Industrial Customer Service Representative and Traffic Manager. She retired in 1995 after 34 years of service.
She will always be remembered as a loving, kind and compassionate daughter, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, coworker and friend. She was the best mom ever and she was her children's favorite person in the whole world. She had such beautiful blue eyes and a heart warming smile. Her hugs were magical. Helping people made her feel good and listening to others was one of her special talents. She always made everybody feel loved and that they mattered. She was an exceptionally intelligent, encouraging, considerate, unselfish, humble and gentle woman.
Some of her favorite activities included spending time with her family, fishing, hunting, looking at the moon, listening to her family sing, watching deer, sipping from a cup of hot tea, cheering on the Buckeyes, loving pets and traveling, especially to upstate New York and Canada. Her granddaughters brought so much joy and happiness into her life. Susie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and she was a member of the Plastics Activities Club at GE.
Survivors include two children, MaLynda Sue Booth of Coshocton and Dr. Gerald Curbeau Booth and his wife April Lynn (Clark) Booth of Colerain, Ohio; two granddaughters, Sarah Elizabeth Booth and Lindsay Marie Booth; special cousins, Patricia N. Michael, Larry C. Michael and Ron R. and Teresa C. Hutchison; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law John L. and Carol Ann Brill, William L. and Diane L. Foster and Carol L. Booth, and also many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Susie is preceded in death by her grandparents Valentine Seymour Michael and Hattie Ionia (Lint) Michael; father-in-law and mother-in-law Roy Emerson Booth and Mary Ellen (Cutshall) Booth; son, James “Jimmy” A. Salmans III; sister, Marlene F. Salmans; grandmother, Eleanor A. Wilson; special cousins James T. and Diane J. Michael; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Floyd E. and Colleen M. Booth, Donald G. and Janice M. Elson and David E. Booth; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Coshocton County Memory Gardens, 25580 SR 621, Coshocton, Ohio 43812. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
