His was born on November 24, 1955, in Coshocton to the late Robert Eick and Marilyn Casey Eick. David was a 1974, graduate of River View High School and worked for Coshocton County Memory Gardens for many years and then worked for Genie Overhead Door Company before retiring.
He loved playing the guitar, watching football and his fantasy football leagues. David had a love for nature and all animals, especially his past dogs Cobain and Kiki.
David is survived by his daughter, Katreena (Allan) Smith of Wetumpka, Alabama, granddaughters, Katie Smith of Daphne, Alabama and Kylee Smith of Auburn, Alabama; brothers Keith (Patsy) Eick of Coshocton and Jeff (Kim) Eick of Keene, sister Dawn (Bill) Hardesty of Coshocton; long-time companion Nancy Huff, a child of the heart, Angel D’Ostroph of Columbus and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Keene United Methodist Church with Reverend Paula Marbury officiating. Burial of ashes will be held at Keene Cemetery at a later date. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
The family would like to thank the Morrison House in Zanesville for all of their care and compassion for David.
