Alice Darlene Stipes Daliere, age 90 years old, earned her heavenly wings on September 7, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born November 12, 1932, in Coshocton, to Glenn and Anna (Fender) Guthrie.
She graduated from Roscoe High School in 1950. She married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Lewis Stipes, on March 9, 1951. They spent 52 years together and raised four sons, before he passed away in 2002. Darlene worked for Goldens, Chamber of Commerce and Roscoe Foundation. Fashion and color were her passion. She was a founding member of “The Stipes Gang” with Raymond and they played all over the state of Ohio for 48 years.
Darlene loved her family fiercely and was always up for a celebration. She was a talented seamstress, making many Canal Days dresses. She also enjoyed dancing and was a member of “The Silver Liners” for 19 years. She was a member of the “Red Hat Society”. On December 12, 2005, Darlene married Don Daliere, who passed away on December 3, 2020.
Surviving are her three sons, Chris and Aj Stipes, Mark and Jodi Stipes, David and Jodi Stipes, and Daughter-In-Law Michelle Stipes. Grandchildren, Jessica (Billy) Rome, Starrzanne (Donnie) Hilty, Ian (Stephanie) Stipes, Crosby (Ashley) Stipes, Collin (Kara) Stipes, Layne (Brandon) Wheeler, Logan (Alison) Stipes, Peyton Stipes, Hunter Stipes, Kristin (Brandon) Wesney and Cory (Ashley) Barnett. She also leaves behind 20 great grandchildren and Sister-In-Law Debbie (Bill) Dutton, several nieces and nephews, and special friends Connie (Mark) Rettos. A special thank you to Susan Guthrie Dobbins for all of her many visits that brightened her day.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Raymond and her beloved son Keith Lewis Stipes, along with her second husband, Don “DD” Daliere.
Darlene’s wishes are for memorial contributions to may be made to Genesis Hospice, Altercare of Coshocton, or to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at the Funeral Home at 3:00 pm with family friend Rev. Ric Bonice officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather at The Coshocton Moose after the service.
