Ysidora G Moreno, 95, was called home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2011 after a long illness. She was born on April 4, 1916 in Seguin, Texas to Juan V. Gonzalez and Felicitas G. Gonzalez. She moved to Robstown, Texas where she met and married the love of her life, Margarito Moreno. Ysidora was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend that knew no stranger. She loved life and lived it to the fullest bringing joy to all who knew her. She retired from CCISD where she worked in food service and volunteered at Broad Moore Senior Center for the last 12 years of her life which she enjoyed tremendously.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Felicitas Gonzalez; her sisters, Maria Gonzalez and Teodora Gonzalez; brothers, Jesus and Catarino Gonzalez and a grandson, Margarito Renee Valdez. She leaves behind those who will cherish her memories, three daughters, Margaret Johnson, Angie Martinez and husband, Willie Martinez (whom she adored) and Julie Benavidez; five grandchildren, Milton Edward (Mireya), Michael Valdez (Ann Marie), Lucy Martinez, Jessica Martinez Leal (Adrian), Antonia Ysidora Sustaita (Edward III); great-grandchildren, John Benavidez, Margaret Marie, Emelia Irene, Chris, Alexandra, Breanna, Alexis, Michael III and Clarissa Valdez, Anthony Kane Jimenez, Sephina and Anise Ysidora Sustaita and Isabella Zoe Leal. She also leaves behind her sister, Simona Jaime and other loving family members and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all of the family and friends for the many prayers and support and Dr. Antonio Guzman and staff for the excellent care and compassion they provided. They would also like to thank Angel Bright Home Health and Hospice for their excellent care and support.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel, 549 Cheyenne, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church with interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park
