Will was born on July 22 in Cleveland, OH to Dr. Shepard Dunn and Nancye (Commander) Dunn and grew up in Columbia, SC. He attended The Hill School and graduated in 1971. His college education included time spent at Davidson College and North Texas State University. He served his country as a Naval Corpsman at Bethesda Naval Hospital, for two years. He met his wife Ruth, of 40 years, at North Texas. They raised three daughters, Kristi, Mandy and Susan. He spent his career as an entrepreneur and founder of DASK Corp in 1996.
Will was an avid sports fan who loved to follow the NCAA basketball tournament, Aggie football, and the Dallas Cowboys. He was actively involved in both his church homes, Christ United Methodist Church of Farmers Branch, TX and Island in the Son United Methodist Church of Corpus Christi, TX. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
He is preceded in death by his father, Shepard, and his mother, Nancye. He is survived by his wife Ruth (Herold) Dunn; Daughters: Kristi (Mac) Hooke of San Antonio, Mandy (Caleb) Fox of Corpus Christi and Susan (Robert) Harker of Houston; Grandchildren: Ben and Kate Hooke, Joe and Luke Fox; Siblings: Joseph Dunn of Raleigh, NC and Shepard Dunn Jr. of Vincennes, IN; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday May 15th, 2021 at Christ United Methodist Church on 2807 Valwood Pkwy, Farmers Branch TX at 2 o’clock p.m. The service will also be live streamed at http://www.christ4u.org/.
