On December 24, 1961, Teresa was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. For many years, she was active in the full-time ministry. She loved to teach others about God’s promise of a new world and helped her Bible students attend meetings to worship Jehovah. Teresa’s strong faith and hope in an earthly resurrection comforted her and helped her endure through the deaths of her son and husband. For the rest of her life, she remained a faithful servant of Jehovah. Teresa was known for her hospitality. She loved to cook and bake for others. She often held large gatherings at her house which was always full of friends and family, laughter and love.
Teresa was preceded in death by her mother; her father; her beloved stepfather, Rosendo Jimenez; her brothers, Camilo Garza, Pedro Garza, Justino Garza, Jose Garza, and Rosendo (Sonny) Jimenez; her son, Jose A. Treviño; and her husband, Jose G. Treviño.
Teresa is survived by her sister, Guadalupe Buentello; her children, Gilbert (Beatrice) Trevino, Rafaela (Ezequiel) De La Fuente, Sara (Brian) Rogers, and David Trevino. Throughout the years, her family continued to grow with many grandchildren, Marisela Montalvo, Diana Luera, Anna Trevino, Joseph De La Fuente, Zachary De La Fuente, Nathan De La Fuente, Micah De La Fuente, Jonathan Rogers, Kristy Treviño, Justin Trevino, Nancy Amason, Eric Trevino, Jennipher Trevino, Jose Treviño, José Antonio Treviño, Jacqueline Trevino; and many great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Talk will be held at 7 PM on Monday, August 14, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses – 5436 Richter St., Corpus Christi, TX 78415. Visitation will be held at 9 AM on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
