Sylvia Duran Rodriguez

Sylvia Duran Rodriguez, our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend peacefully went to meet her Lord and Savior at the age of 71 on Saturday, May 27, 2023, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Sylvia was born on May 18, 1952 in Aransas Pass, Texas to Evaristo Duran and Maria Mora Duran.

She was a graduate of Gregory-Portland High School, and received a Business Degree from Del Mar College. She worked in Administration for MHMR, and the State of Austin.

Sylvia will be deeply missed by her son, daughter-in-law who helped tremendously to obtain home health care, also her grandkids, mom, brothers, and sister-in-law Joyce and brother-in-law Eddie.

Special Thank you to Angel Lara for his care helping her and doing house chores. Her dear mother spending countless days with her and preparing Sylvia's requested meals. Thank you to Del Cielo Hospice Facility and Racheal Esquivel for her care on Sylvia's last days.

Sylvia enjoyed crafting and crocheting, having made so many beautiful blankets, shawls, and scarfs. She had a beautiful marriage with the love of her life Johnny for 49 years, Sylvia would say my "Gordo" always makes me laugh.

Sylvia was a devoted member of The Lord is Peace Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Johnny (Yogi) and her father Evaristo Duran.

Left to cherish her memories are: her son John Anthony Rodriguez (Stephanie); her pride and joy grandchildren: Hannah and Ryan Anthony Rodriguez; mother Maria Duran; brothers Carlos (Amy) Duran and ruben Duran; numerous nephews and nieces.

Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at The Lord is Peace Church, 4730 Kostoryz Street, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78415.
