Sarah Martinez Sanchez, born April 22, 1932, in Georgetown, Texas, received her call to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on March 10, 2023. She was raised in Michigan, where she graduated from Saginaw High School.
Sarah married Alfredo Sanchez on January 3, 1967, enjoying 57 years of marriage.
She was a self-employed beautician. She loved her clients and made lasting friendships. She had such a love and passion for children that, together with her husband Alfred, they fostered hundreds of children from 1976-2010. Sarah was a long-time faithful member of Solid Rock Church in Corpus Christi. She loved her church. Nothing made her happier than stepping into her calling every Sunday morning, where Sarah led the deaf ministry. She had a strong passion for physically challenged people. Sarah faithfully and consistently served them, providing transportation to and from church. She was sometimes called to assist with interpretation for the deaf in courtroom settings or when someone needed her services. She also enjoyed gardening. Sarah was also the author of her recent book, which includes a collection of testimonies and visions from God. Her legacy and love made an impact on many who knew her. Sarah is preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Refugia Martinez.
Survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Alfredo; her children Freddy Sanchez and Richard Sanchez, daughter, Maria Sanchez; her grandchildren, Freddy, Joshua, Justin, Jeremy, Richard, Jr., Reynaldo, and Gia; her great-grandchildren, Zephyr, Jayce, Landyn, Rayne, Jahsiel, Xyan; her brother Sammy; numerous nieces, nephews and foster children.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with her life and legacy to be celebrated at 7:00 pm at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. A Life and Legacy Celebration will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
