Ruth Joyce Riley

Ruth Joyce Riley, age 98, of Corpus Christi, Texas, joined her husband Bob and son Michael in heaven on Sunday, June 18, 2023. She was born in Big Wells, Texas, to Minnie Florence Fitzgerald Brymer and John Harvey Brymer, Sr. on August 10, 1924.

Joyce was the youngest of 10 children. She was very active in the Catholic Church, Altar Society, and Caring Friends. She worked at Lichtenstein's and later Frost Bros. until her retirement. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, husband, and one son.

Joyce is survived by her children: Pat (Hardy) Cruse, Linda (John) McGowan, Margaret (David) Farley, Kathy (Ron) Stephens, Joe (Leslie) Riley; 9 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Joyce was a friend to all and never knew a stranger, always a big smile on her face, she was loved by so many. Joyce adored her children and always wanted to see them. She was a little strict at times, but she kept them on the right path. O how she loved fun conversations and a nice glass of wine. Witty RedHead! She will always be remembered for her friendly and kind disposition. Joyce fiercely loved her husband and missed him so much after he passed away.

The family would like to give special thanks to everyone who helped care for Joyce.

Funeral Services all on one day on Thursday, June 22, 2023 with Holy Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 3350 S. Alameda Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78411. Interment at 11:30 a.m. at Seaside Memorial Cemetery, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412.

Services are entrusted to Funeraria Del Angel Everhart, 4901 Everhart Road, Corpus Christi, TX 78411.
