Rosie Guzman Gutierrez, peacefully passed Monday, October 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 20, 1941 to her proud parents Benito Flores and Ramona Galindo in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Rosie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her. Rosie will be remembered for her love of family especially her grandchildren. She was a caregiver with a passion for taking care of children serving as a pediatric nurse for over 20 years. People often asked her children, (“Is your mom Rosie, the Nurse that works at Children’s Clinic”) Children that visited The Children’s Clinic were drawn to her and the gentle care she provided.
Throughout her nursing career Rosie developed several close friendships who remain near and dear to her.
Rosie had a passion for dancing, her and Agustin would often go dancing on Friday’s and Saturdays at local dance establishments and the valley. Rosie was known to pull her son onto the dance floor to dance a few polkas and cumbias.
Rosie was impeccable about her appearance, always ensuring her hair was at its best, her makeup flawless and her signature scent of Estee Lauder Knowing perfume.
She is reunited with by her parents Benito Flores and Ramona Galindo; in-laws Agustin Viramontez Gutierrez and Patricia Loredo Gutierrez and her nephew, Servando Lozano. Rosie will also be reunited with her beloved Niko, her pet chihuahua, known as her 2nd son.
Rosie leaves her loving memories to her beloved husband of 67 years, Agustin Loredo Gutierrez; Her legacy will be carried on by her children David Agustin Gutierrez (Mary), Chriselda G. Seiler (David), Mary Josie Medina (Albert), Patricia Ann Juarez (Ruben); loving god-daughter, Sierra Fain; sisters, Benita Flores and Soyla Christina Perez (Ruben); grandchildren, Jessica Marie Juarez, David Michael Seiler, Veronica Serrata (Edward), Stephen Bryan Seiler (Mari), Jonathan K. Gutierrez, Julio Alberto Medina (Nicole), Amanda Banks (Derrek), Kaitlyn Gutierrez; great-grandchildren, Arianna Serrata, Gabriella Juarez, Bailey Seiler, Marissa Serrata, Natalie Serrata, David Banks, Elena Banks, Rocky Medina, Joey Serrata, Taylor Seiler, Nicolas Gutierrez, Ellie Anna Medina, Austin Seiler, Madilynn Medina, and Anthony Banks. She also leaves a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers for the services will be her grandsons, David Michael Seiler, Stephen Bryan Seiler, Jonathon K. Gutierrez, Alberto (Julio) Medina, grandsons in laws, Edward Serrata, Derrek Banks, nephews, Christopher Lozano and Michael Lozano.
Honorary Pallbearers Emilio Casarez, David Banks, Rocky Medina, Joey Serrata, Nicolas Gutierrez and Austin Seiler.
Family was of the utmost importance to her, traveling to other states and cities for births, birthdays, baptisms, communions, dance recitals, sporting events, graduations, weddings, and vacations.
Family will receive friends at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to eternal rest in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
