Roel Gomez Sr., age 66, of Corpus Christi, Texas entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at home, with his beloved wife by his side. Roel was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Raul and Margarita Gomez.
Roel was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Roel will be remembered as a very exceptional person. He was a family man that loved his children and grandchildren dearly.
Fortunately, Roel enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Roel worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career as a floor installer for over 43 years. The last 27 years he owned his own business in the same industry.
Roel enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were fishing, spending time with his family and making his infamous brisket, everyone knew him as the ‘Best Brisket Maker’. Roel was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he had the chance to do so. Tops on his list were watching the Dallas Cowboys.
Left to cherish Roel's memory are his wife of 24 years, Ruth Gomez; children, Roel Gomez Jr., (Jennifer), Ruben Estrada (Natasha); and Xena Gonzales Gomez; his brother Danny Gomez (Ramona), and his sister in law Becca Cruz; grandchildren Angel Nicole Gomez and Robert Micah Gomez along with his four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends.
Roel follows in death his father Raul Gomez and mother Margarita Gomez; brothers Sammy Gomez;Joel Gomez; and sisters Rebecca Gomez and Rachel Gomez.
A celebration of life for Roel will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 1:30PM to 5:00PM with a Prayer Service and Memory Sharing beginning at 2:30PM. Refreshments and visiting to follow until 5:00PM, at Funeraria Del Angel, 4901 Everhart Rd., Corpus Christi, TX.
