Robin Lee Hernandez

Robin Lee Hernandez, age 37, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 30, 2021. Robin was born December 17, 1983 in Brownsville, TX, to Joselito Hernandez and Ginger Broadway Poynter.

Robin graduated high school in Corpus Christi, TX. As a child, Robin loved to fish, camp, snowboard and skateboard. Robin always had a smile on his face and he never met a stranger. Robin was always curious and he had a thirst for learning that lasted until his final day. He was an avid reader and you could always count on Robin for a vigorous debate on any topic.

After high school, Robin joined the United States Marine Corp and served his country with honor and distinction. Robin served three tours in Iraq as a mortar man in the 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines. In March 2008, Robin married the love of his life, Tara Fitzsimons and the two were married and had two beautiful children, Lee Joel Hernandez and Elizabeth Gracie Hernandez.

Robin was a loyal and devoted husband and a loving father to his children. Robin is survived and his loss is mourned by his wife, Tara, children, Lee and Elizabeth, parents, Tom Parker and Ginger Poynter and husband, Martin Poynter, and his brothers, Christopher Parker of Daphne, AL, Jonathan Parker of Mobile, AL, his sister, Ashley Dent and husband, Aaron Dent of Mobile, AL. He is also survived and loved by his nieces and nephews, Emily Parker, Isaac Parker, Tanner Croyle, Kailynn Parker, Alex Pike, Aaliyah Dent and Evalynn Parker and by his many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services with military honors will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Alabama State Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, located at 34904 Alabama Highway 225, Spanish Fort, Alabama.

After the service, family and friends are invited to join the family at the home of Martin and Ginger Poynter.
