Bobby was the progenitor drummer for most if not all drummers in Corpus bands during the 60s. His legacy - showing how to keep a solid back beat while looking enviably cool and hip. 
My condolences to his wife and daughter.

This is meant to be humorous!
In 1970 when I really met Bobby most of us smoked, I guess most people smoked back then. Most people intuitively knew smoking wasn't good for our health, we just did it anyway.
One thing that I remember about Bobby, and other people confirmed, was that he had this ability to drag on a cigarette and make it look like it was pure pleasure. He should have been the Marlboro Man.
I remember trying to quit and seeing Bobby take a drag. It was exquisite torture.
