After graduating from Roy Miller high School in 1966, Ricardo went on to join the workforce where he worked as a truck driver, car salesman and business manager before finding his passion at C.C.A.D where labored a long successful career until his retirement in 2011. He married the love of his life, Mrs. Maria P. Marroquin, on August 6, 2003.
Ricardo T. Marroquin was a true patriot who showed brave devotion to his country through his duty as a member of the United States Navy. During his time served in the U.S Navy, Ricardo selflessly served two tours in the Vietnam War. His love for Country was trumped only by his love and dedication to his family. Ricardo was a family man who enjoyed time spent and memories made with those he held closest to his heart.
Ricardo was an all-around fan of football but held a special place in his heart for his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved the Houston Astros and had a passion for traveling and seeing the world. Family trips in the 70’s and 80’s hold some of the fondest memories. Ricardo found great joy in cooking for his family every Holiday season. He was always down for a good laugh shared with family and friends.
Preceding Ricardo in eternal rest are his parents, Guadalupe B. Marroquin, Maria Guadalupe Marroquin and brother, Ruben T. Marroquin.
Left to cherish the beautiful memory of Ricardo is his devoted wife of 30 years, Mrs. Maria P. Marroquin; children, Ida L. Marroquin, Ricardo T. Marroquin Jr. (Maxine), Jesse (Victoria) Chavez; grandchildren, Adrian Tijerina, Alija Ortiz, Giovanni N. Luna; siblings, Hector (Trini) Marroquin, Jose Angel (Sylvia) Marroquin, Christina Zamora, Lupe (Janet) Marroquin and numerous extended family and friends.
We would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Christus Spohn Shoreline, PAM’s and Tribute Hospice for the dedication given to Mr. Marroquin in his time of need, and a very special thank you to his Nurse Alana.
