Patrick Ray Carson was born on March 17, 1938 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Marvin and Ruth Carson. Patrick attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville as well as Indiana University, where he received his Masters Degree in Music. Over the years, Patrick found solace in his love of music. In 1961, Pat began performing with The Muny in St. Louis, MO. He starred in multiple productions including The Great Waltz and Li’l Abner. He met Shirley on the set of a production of H.M.S. Pinafore in San Antonio, TX. Patrick married the love of his life, Shirley Carson, in January 1967 and together they had two amazing sons, Todd and Sean Carson.
Patrick worked as a Choir Director for multiple high schools across the southern region of the United States. He left teaching to pursue a career in sales with MuniChem where he excelled and this was the foundation for him to launch his own company, Green Diamond Distributors in 1983. He sold janitorial supplies, tools and safety equipment to cities and counties all over South Texas. He enjoyed meeting and talking to his customers, and many became his friends. Patrick worked tirelessly until he retired in 2020. While Patrick enjoyed his career in sales, his love of music continued in his later years as he sang with the Del Mar Master Chorus performing concerts in Corpus Christi and even in New York City.
Patrick is preceded in death by his Father Marvin Carson & Mother Ruth Carson.
Patrick is survived by his wife Shirley Carson (Flower Mound, TX); sons Todd Carson (Pflugerville, TX); Sean Carson & Daughter-in-law Charlotte Carson (Flower Mound, TX); Grandchildren Brendan Carson (Flower Mound, TX); Lauren Carson (Pflugerville, TX); and Stephen Carson (Pflugerville, TX)
