Patricia Ann Riek

On December 31, 2023, our Lord called Patricia “Pat” Ann Riek to enter Heaven. Pat wished to start the New Year in His Kingdom as she left the Doctor's Hospital at Renaissance Hospice in Edinburg, Texas.

Patricia was born on February 28, 1940, in Buffalo, New York, to Louis and Mary Agnes Riek.

Pat was a retired teacher and counselor who worked in the Edinburg and McAllen, Texas school districts. She was proud to be a member of the Palm Valley Retired Teachers Association (TRTA0). She was a devoted Catholic and was active with the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA). She photographed CDA events and wrote news stories for our daily newspaper. Her pride was in having one of her CDA stories published in the CDA national magazine "Share."

Pat loved working outside in her garden and loved showing off Valley sights like a tour guide. She often bragged about Valley weather to her cousins who were under snow.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Mary Agnes Riek.

Some people leave footprints in the hearts of others with their kind nature. Pat was that type of person. We love you. Rest in peace.

A graveside service for Patricia will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78415.
