Missionary Ora Lee Hill was born June 15, 1924 in Gonzales County, to the union of C. T. Boyd and Dora Ella (Green) Boyd. She was united in holy matrimony to J. B. Hill in 1945. To this union was born one son, Michael Ray Hill.
She attended public schools in Gonzales County. She worked in the medical field at Spohn Hospital for 13 years from 1970 to 1983.
She was saved at a young age. She became a member of Curry Temple Church of God in Christ. This was under the leadership of Elder Curry in Kingsville, Texas from 1944 to 1950 where she also received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. She moved to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1950 and was a member of the Greater Watkins Temple Church of God under the leadership of Elder H. H. Watkins which is now Providence Church of God in Christ under leadership of Elder Cedric Bryd and currently pastor Elder Ranard Smith. She became a licensed missionary in 195`. She served faithfully as a teacher of Prayer & Bible Band, Sunday School, Young People Willing Worker & varies of other departments. She services as the President of Corpus Christi District Bible Band for several years. She had a deep love for God and the work of the ministry.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, J. B. Hill; her parents, C. T. Boyd and Dora (Green) Boyd; and siblings, Lois Vernell Boyd, Willie Boyd, Lawrence Boyd, and Rufus Boyd. She leaves to mourn one son, Michael Ray Hill; and two siblings, Doris James and Andrew Boyd. She leaves a legacy of serving the church and others unconditionally.
