Mattie Marie Miller

Mattie Marie Miller, age 81, of Temple, Texas, was called home on Friday, February 16, 2024. Mattie was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, on December 3, 1942. She graduated from Solomon Coles High School. Mattie went on to marry her beloved husband Harold Lee Miller on January 30, 1999.

Mattie worked for many years as a dispatcher for the Corpus Christi Police Department and later retired. Mattie loved to travel and enjoyed seeing different sights. She had a passion for reading and could often be found reading her favorite novels.

Mattie is survived by her beloved husband, Harold Lee Miller; children, Roy (Cynthia) Hicks, Timothy Williams, Paul (Janet) Hicks, and Sheila Hicks-Lozada; grandchildren, Maria Hicks, James Hicks, Benjamin Hicks, Isaiah Williams, Joshua Torres, Jonathan Williams, Khyrie Williams, Denise Hicks, Jennifer Hicks, Jessica Deal, Amanda Hicks, Brittney Hicks, and Stefon Fountain; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 9 PM Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will occur at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Memory Gardens Funeral Home with Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
