He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of almost 58 years, Lucinda Garza Gracia; his 4 children, Ludy G. Ybarra (Mario) from Banquete, TX, Martin Gracia, Jr. (Linda) from Robstown,TX, Gina G. Rosas (Reynaldo) from Victoria, TX, and Daniel Gracia (Dita) from Fort Worth, TX. He was also blessed with 2 grandsons, Martin Gracia III and Stevan R. Rosas; 4 granddaughters, Stephanie Y. Fernandez, Marlena Y. Maldondado, Sarah Danielle Rosas and Malynda Gracia and 2 great grandchildren, Mariah Ann and Isabella Rose Maldonado.
Martin attended school in Robstown, graduating in 1955. After graduation he began his career with Gulf Concrete Company; holding many positions which included truck driver, dispatcher and shop foreman. South Texas Materials took over the company while Martin was still shop foreman and he moved up the ladder as a safety coordinator. Again, the company was bought out under Alamo Concrete Company, where he retired in 2013.
Family will be receiving friends at Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 8200 Old Brownsville Rd. on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 204 Dunne Ave. in Robstown, Texas with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Robstown Memorial Park 4607 Farm to Market 1889 in Robstown, TX .
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff at Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital and also Girling Hospice, especially nurses, Bethaney Wanoreck and Melissa Medina.
