Mark Anthony Donahue

Mark Anthony Donahue, 46, of Corpus Christi, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family and friends after a courageous battle with Metastatic Bladder Cancer. Born in Corpus Christi on May 9, 1978, Mark lived a life full of passion, humor, and kindness that touched the hearts of everyone he met.

A proud graduate of W. B. Ray High School, Mark married the love of his life, Elizet Arguelles, on his birthday, May 9, 2005. Their nearly 20 years of marriage were filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.

Mark worked as a bicycle mechanic and sales associate at Bay Area Bicycles, where his craftsmanship and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues and customers alike. A man of many talents, his hobbies reflected his creative and adventurous spirit. Whether online gaming, cooking, baking, building with his hands, fishing, or watching his favorite college and professional football and baseball teams, Mark embraced life with enthusiasm. His love for classic cars and trucks, combined with his passion for music, often found him sharing a perfectly chosen song that mirrored his emotions and the moment.

Above all, Mark will be remembered for his humor and his remarkable gift of making people laugh, whether family, friends, or strangers. His joy for life was evident in everything he did, from taking road trips to Eagle Pass to trying his luck at the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino, to the simple pleasure of cooking and sharing meals with those he loved, especially a fresh pot of his homemade Charro Beans.

Mark’s compassion, thoughtfulness, and romantic spirit made him a remarkable husband, friend, and family member. Known for his ability to give the most meaningful and heartfelt gifts, he expressed his love through both grand gestures and quiet moments.

Though he faced significant challenges in the later years of his life, Mark endured them with incredible courage, a smile on his face, and hope in his heart. His resilience and positivity inspired everyone around him.

Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Carmen Garza, and his half-brother, Isidro Govella. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elizet A. Donahue; his stepfather, Julien Garza; his estranged biological father, George Donahue; and his half-brother, Michael Rios.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Aftab Mahmood, Dr. Celia Gomez, Dr. Sridevi Konkimalla, Dr. Kusumakar Sooda, Dr. Jacqueline Phillips, and the compassionate nurses and staff at Oncology Associates, including Margarita, Gracie, Minerva, Margo, Amber, and Anastasia, for the outstanding care and support they provided.

Above all, his devoted wife, Elizet, remained his steadfast companion and caregiver, never leaving his side in the final months of his life.

Mark’s legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him. His memory will continue to inspire us all to live with courage, kindness, and a smile on our faces.
