Luciano G. “Chano” Leal, Sr. our beloved father strong and caring, grandfather and adored great-grandfather was called to heaven at the age of 81 on December 4, 2016. Luciano was born in Kingsville, Texas to Lorenzo and Angelita Leal on January 13, 1935. He lived most of his life in Corpus Christi where he met his wife Santiaga of 55 years. Together they raised their 4 sons and 2 daughters. Luciano dedicated his life to his family and to the Catholic Church. He was a Knights of Columbus and Usher of Our Lady of Pilar. Luciano’s spirit and memory will live on through his sister, Estefana Leal; sons, Luciano Leal, Jr., Jose Leal (Clara), Gilbert Leal and Andres Leal (Celia); daughters, Lucia Ruiz (Juan) and Mary Ann Pena (George); his grandchildren, Jose G. Leal, Elizabeth Romo (Philip), David Ruiz (Erica) Vanessa Leal , Jorge Miguel (Audrey), John Mathew Ruiz (Anna), Daniel Leal (Leah), Andrea Espinosa (Henry), Philip Leal, Jennifer Montelongo (Marcos), Margo (Brandon) Walder and Andres Leal, Jr.; and his 15 great-grandchildren..Luciano rest in heaven with his wife, Santiaga; his parents; grandson, Nicholas Vega Leal; his sister, Angelita Trevino; brothers Martin, Refugio, Gerardo, Trinidad, Antonio, Francisco and Lorenzo.Special thanks to Gabriela Lupita Bazan Morfin for her loving and patient care. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Funeraria Del Angel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.
A Funeral Mass with be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Our Lady of Pilar Catholic Church with interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
