He was born on April 22, 1928 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mr. Rangel retied 1977 from CC Army Depot after 33 years of service, he was the owner of 1st Base Drive-Inn for over 40 years where he made many friends over the years.
Always giving to those who were short on funds never asking for anything in return. He was a man of very few words, but he was always ready to listen to others and his heart was made of gold. He will be remembered as a great man who always saw the good in people regardless!
He leaves his wife of Aida of 62 years to cherish his memories, his 5 children, Elda Garcia (Javier), Rosaelia Trevino (Rudy), Mary Roberson (Ray Sanchez), Juan Sotero Rangel, Jr. (Annett) and Joe Richard Rangel (Sylvia), twelve grandchildren, Jermery Deanda, Rene Deanda, Erika Vasquez, Dylan Roberson, Quinten Roberson, Joe Gabriel Martinez, Kathrine Rose Alaniz, Chriselda Garcia, Juan S. Rangel III, Janine Rangel, Joe R. Rangel, Jr. and Jordan Rangel; fifteen great grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, his children, grandchildren and his great grandchildren who haven’t fully grown to known him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 21st at Holy Family Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
A special thanks to Father Jose Salazar of Holy Family Catholic church, who was there to read his final rights in this hours of his death.
Also, his son Joe Richard (Dickie) would like to thank Juan S. Sotero III who worked tirelessly for his grandfather no matter what hour of day or night it was.
